About Poland
Poland is located in Eastern Europe and shares a common border with Russia to the east. It has a long and illustrious history dating back thousands of years when barbarian Rus and Slavic tribes inhabited the lands. It is the sixth most populous country in Europe and is a member of Schengen, NATO, and the European Union. In terms of land mass, Poland is the seventh-largest country on the continent.
Besides the northeast border it shares with Russia, it also borders Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Belarus, and Ukraine. The total population is estimated at 38 million, with Warsaw being the most populated city, which also serves as the capital.
The economy is quite advanced and remains one of Europe's most dynamic and stable economies. As for the tourism industry, Poland attracts millions of visitors every year. It is home to fourteen UNESCO world heritage sites and famous destinations like Auschwitz, Krakow, Wieliczka salt mine, Wolf’s lair, Zalipie village, Warsaw Old Market, and many others sites. During summer, the visitors spend time at the beaches and the coastal resort towns.
Why Do Indians Need A Visa To Visit Poland?
Indians need a visa to visit Poland because India is not on the list of visa-free countries whose citizens can enter Poland without a visa. Only citizens from Schengen, EU and visa-exempt countries can enter the country without a visa.
