Known for its unmatchable beauty, Malaysia is one of the most popular travel destinations all around the globe. Each year, millions of tourists visit this country to explore its stunning landscapes, Batu caves, delicious cuisines, and Malacca city.
If you like adventure and travel a lot, you must add Malaysia to your bucket list. Before you enter Malaysia, you need to learn about their visa policies. In this article, we have discussed about Malaysia visa options for Bangladeshi citizens and how to apply for one!
Do Bangladeshi Citizens Need Malaysia Visa?
All Bangladeshi passport holders must obtain a valid visa prior to entering Malaysia. Malaysia offers different types of visas, including:
Electronic Visas
Recently, the Malaysian government started the electronic visa system. Through this program, foreign nationals, including Bangladeshi citizens, are eligible to get an online Malaysian visa. The best thing about an e-visa is that you can apply for it from the comfort of your home.
The Malaysian ministry of foreign affairs provides the following types of electronic visas:
Tourist e-Visa - For tourism purposes, Bangladeshi citizens can apply for a Malaysia tourist visa. This travel document allows you to enter Malaysia to visit relatives and explore the country
Business e-Visa - Alternatively, if a Bangladeshi citizen wants to visit Malaysia for professional and commercial activities, he/she can apply for a business visa. A business visa allows you to attend business meetings, meet with business associates, and enroll in a training program
Regardless of your selected e-visa type, you can use an electronic visa to stay in the country for 30 consecutive days. It's a single-entry visa that comes with a validity period of 90 days.
Visa Processing Fees
Currently, VisaHQ is not offering business e-visas for Malaysia. The visa fee for a Malaysian tourist e-visa can fall anywhere between 9,000 to 9,500 BDT. This includes both the embassy fee as well as the visa service fee.
Traditional Visas
If, for some reason, you are not eligible for a Malaysia e-visa, you can always apply for a traditional paper or stamp visa. Fortunately, you can partner up with VisaHQ to complete the visa application process for a traditional visa.
The Malaysian government offers traditional visas for both tourism and business purposes. For tourism, you can get a single-entry travel document valid for 90 days, allowing you to stay in the country for 30 consecutive days.
Alternatively, if you want to enter Malaysia for business purposes, you can get either a single-entry travel document or a multiple-entry visa, depending on the nature of your visit.
Visa Processing Fees
Whether you select a traditional tourist visa or a business visa, the processing fee is around 12,002 BDT.
Malaysia Visa Requirements
As the Malaysian government offers different types of visas for Bangladeshi citizens, the visa requirements vary as well. Regardless of your selected visa option, if you are applying for a travel document online, you must have the following three items:
Valid Passport - An original passport issued by the Bangladesh government is a must to start the visa application process. Make sure your passport has at least 2 blank pages and 6 months of remaining validity
Means of Payment - As you are applying for a Malaysia visa online, you need online payment methods to pay the visa fees. You can use a PayPal account, debit card, or credit card
E-mail Address - Your email address will be linked electronically to your passport. Make sure to use a valid and active email address, as you'll get your travel document via email
Besides these, applicants will need some supporting documents as well. These documents depend upon your selected Malaysian visa. These are as follows:
Passport-type photograph
Travel itinerary
Bank statement
Proof of accommodation
Invitation letter
Birth certificate
