Do Citizens of New Zealand Need A Cambodian Visa To Enter The Country?
New Zealanders need a visa to enter Cambodia, just like citizens of many other countries. The visa is a travel document that grants them legal access to the country at any time. The easiest Cambodia visa for New Zealanders you can apply for is the e visa.
Cambodia E Visa
An E visa is also an electronic visa generated online after the applicant must have filled it out and attached all necessary documents to it. The applicant doesn’t have to visit the Cambodian embassy in Wellington to apply for it, as it is done online. This means they can use their computer or smartphone to complete the application as long as the device is connected to the internet. E visas allow the holder to stay in Cambodia for 30 days with an option to extend it by a further 30 days.
The electronic visa is a single entry visa valid for use only once, after which it expires. Even if the user does not stay for the maximum number of days, the e-visa will still expire as the single entry feature will be triggered once the holder’s passport is stamped at the airport.
Note: Applicants who don’t qualify for the e Visa program should visit the Cambodian embassy or consulate in Wellington to apply for a normal visa in person.
What Is Required For An Online Cambodia Visa For New Zealands
New Zealanders looking to apply for a Cambodian visa must provide the following.
Valid Passport: A valid New Zealand passport with no less than 6 months. Passports that will expire less than 6 months after the arrival date in Cambodia will not be accepted. The applicant must scan and upload the bio page of the passport on the online application form. For normal visa applications, they must attach a copy of the passport bio page to their paper application. The passport must also have at least 2 blank pages for visa stamps.
Digital Photo: A passport sized digital photo not older than six months. The photograph must be uploaded in jpeg format showing the applicant’s face clearly. It must also have a white background.
Email Address: An email address for receiving the e visa once it is approved. Applicants are advised only to submit email addresses they have access.
Debit or Credit Card: A debit or credit card containing sufficient funds to cover the visa fee cost.
New Zealanders are advised to use the same passport for their trip. Using a different passport for the application and trip will lead to deportation once they arrive at Phnom Penh airport or any other international airport in the country.
Note: The process for applying for a conventional Cambodia visa for New Zealands differs from the e visa application. For long stay visas, do well to visit the embassy in Cambodia to submit a physical application form and document sets. The embassy will schedule an interview with you which you must attend with original copies of all relevant documents.
