Cambodia Type T Tourist Visa
The Type T tourist e-visa is issued to eligible foreigners coming to Cambodia for tourism, sightseeing, vacation, or any leisure activity. This e-visa cannot be used to study or work in the country as it is solely for leisure. It is valid for 90 days from the date of issue, and you can stay in the country for up to 30 days.
Staying a day more will be viewed as violating Cambodia's immigration laws, and you will be made to pay a fine before leaving the country. Furthermore, the passport used in applying for the visa online must be the same one you travel with to the airport since the visa is linked to it.
Also, note that a single-entry visa can only be used once. If you wish to visit again you will have to apply for a new visa from scratch.
Port of Entry
With an e-visa you can enter Cambodia by air or through any borders with Laos, Vietnam, and Thailand. Here are the approved ports of entry.
Airport: Siem Reap International Airport – Phnom Penh International Airport
Border:
- Vietna: (Banteay Charkrey Border Checkpoint – Kha Orm Sam Nor Border Checkpoint – Bavet Check Point – Phnom Dem Border Checkpoint – Oyadav Check Point – Samrong Checkpoint – Prek Chak Checkpoint – Tropieng Phlong Checkpoint – Tropeang Are Checkpoint)
- Thailand: (Cham Yeam Check Point – Anglong Check Point – Osmach Check Point – Doung Check Point – Prum Check Point – Poi Pet Check Point)

Cambodia Business E Visa
The business e-visa is meant for international business persons such as consultants, entrepreneurs, suppliers, business guests, company representatives, and experts. Holders of this e-visa can visit Cambodia to conduct business, enter or sign contracts, settle estates, attend meetings, conferences or seminars, or business activities in general. This e-visa differs from a work visa because it is meant for activities that will not earn the direct holder income for services rendered.
While this business e-visa can be obtained online, work visas can only be obtained from the Cambodian embassy. This e-visa is a single entry visa; the longest you can stay in the country is 30 days.

Visa Policy of Cambodia
The Cambodian visa policy states that all visitors coming into the country for a short or long visit must obtain a visa abroad before setting foot on Cambodian soil unless they are nationals of visa-exempt countries. Such visitors are also expected to have valid passports that will not expire within the next six months from the day of their arrival and a return ticket. The law guiding the entry and exit of foreigners is the Cambodia Immigration Law 1994.
Article 1 of the law is the guiding regulation for all foreigners coming into the territory of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The visa policy defines who needs a visa to visit and the type of visa they need. The purpose behind the trip is a major factor influencing visa choices, and each visa has a unique requirement. The government of Cambodia offers visitors different visa options to choose from.
One visa option is the electronic visa option available to nationals of 220 countries. This e-visa can be obtained by filling out an online application form. The e-visa allows holders to stay in Cambodia for up to 30 days each time they visit. Apart from the r visa, there is also a special visa on arrival for others, but these travelers will have to wait in line at the airport to get it. Then there is the consular visa option open to citizens from 10 countries; visitors from these countries must obtain a visa from the embassy in their country before they can make the trip.
Cambodia Visa-Free Countries
There are the 9 visa-free countries whose citizens can stay in Cambodia for a limited time without holding visas but the list is likely to expand in future when more countries are added. These nationals can stay for up to 30 days but they are not allowed to engage in any economic activity that will earn them Income. This visa free access is solely for tourism and business activities of a non economic nature.
Important Points To Note About Cambodia e Visa
When applying for an e visa for Cambodia and as you prepare for your trip, here are some necessary tips to bear in mind.
Location: You can only apply for the e-visa outside Cambodia, not inside the country. You should make the trip only after it has been approved and you have a copy of the visa. E visas should be printed and carried wherever you go when you are outdoors. In case you are stopped by law enforcement to show your valid entry documents your e visa will come in handy.
Passport: You must travel with the same passport used for the registration because they are linked. When you arrive at the airport or border crossing, the immigration officers will scan your password to generate the e-visa. A different passport will generate nothing, and they will assume you didn't get the visa and will be turned back.
Traveling With A Minor: If you will be coming to Cambodia with a minor you must procure extra documentation. For starters you must apply for an e visa for them as two persons cannot share the same visa regardless of their ages. Secondly you must show proof of parental relationship if the minor is your child and birth certificates will suffice. If you are their legal guardian you must provide a letter of consent issued by their parent making you the legal guardian.
Don't Overstay: Do not overstay your visa. You must use it within three months after it is issued and must not stay beyond 30 days from the day you enter the country. If you realize that you may need to stay longer, quickly contact the immigration authorities to request an extension to your visa before it expires. If your request is granted, you may stay for a few more days or weeks, depending on the extension.
It is also important to note that Cambodia's immigration authorities reserve the sole right to decide who enters the country or not, even if they hold visas. Ensure you answer questions at the border crossing or airport honestly and show all your documents.
Non Refundable Fee
The application fee is non refundable and without it, you will not be allowed to submit the application for processing. Fees are paid with a valid credit or debit card, not with cash.
You May Need Vaccination
If you have any intention of traveling to rural areas in Cambodia you may need to be vaccinated against some tropical or communicable diseases and viruses. This is true with heavily infested areas or regions with known disease outbreaks. To be on the safe side, consult your doctor for professional advice. You may also require protective clothing and supplies for such trips.
