The Armenia visa for Canadian citizens is available for travelers with Canadian passports. The government of Armenia has opened its borders to foreign nationals who meet their immigration requirements. Fortunately, the process has been simplified to help applicants apply for visas with minimal effort.
The electronic visa is the easiest visa to apply for if you are a Canadian passport holder.
Types of Armenian Visa
There are different types of Armenian visas Canadian citizens can apply for, and they are as follows.
Visitor Visa: A Visitor visa is for Canadians visiting for a short time. Tourist visas, family visits, and personal or business visits are all under the visitor visa. These visas are valid for one year and are either single entry or multiple entry visas.
Official Visa: An official visa is the opposite of an ordinary visa because you need an official Canadian passport to apply for it. Official visas are issued to Canadian diplomats or government functionaries coming to Armenia on official assignments. There are other subtypes under this category, like the three-year visa issued to nondiplomatic employees of the Canadian embassy in Yerevan and their families. The single entry or multiple entry visa is issued to Canadian officials who visit at the invitation of the Armenian government or an international organization active in the country
Transit Visa: The Transit visa is another type of visa, which may be a single or multiple entry visas. This visa is valid for one year and allows the holder to stay in the country for not longer than three days and an extra day extension.
Visa Extension
The Armenia Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for issuing visas and granting extensions to visa holders. For instance, the average tourist or short-term visa is valid for 120 days, and you can apply for an extension for an extra 60 days, depending on the type of visa in question.
Armenia Immigration Rules
Canadians can enter the country through any of the border routes or airports, but they must show their Canadian passport, entry visa, and a resident permit if they have Residency status. If a minor is involved, the parent or guardian must show proof that they are a legal representative. Visitors without valid documents will not be allowed into the country and must depart to their country of origin unless they can provide proof that they are refugees seeking asylum.
After your visit, you must validate your passport and other documents according to Armenia’s immigration laws before leaving the country.
As for transit, visitors must show tickets or a visa for a third country where they are going; however, they can’t spend more than 72 hours in the country unless in emergencies.
