Armenia has different visa policies for different countries. While the citizens of the US and some other countries are visa exempt, others require a valid visa to enter Armenia.
Armenia offers two types of travel documents: e-visa and traditional visa. If you want to visit Armenia for a shorter period of time, an e-visa is an excellent pick for you. The process of applying for an e-visa is simple and straightforward: as mentioned below!
Armenia e-Visa Types
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia has started the e-visa system to make the visa processing system as simple as possible. Currently, more than 70 nationalities are eligible for an Armenian e-visa.
The e-visa types and requirements are different for different countries. Currently, Armenia offers two types of e-visas for foreign nationals, including:
21 Days e-Visa - This one is a single-entry visitor visa that stays valid for 90 days. It allows a holder to stay in Armenia for 21 consecutive days.
120 Days e-Visa - If you want to stay longer in the country, you can apply for a 120-day e-visa. This one is also a single-entry travel document. However, it comes with a validity period of 180 days and allows holders to stay in the country for 120 days.
No matter which travels document you pick, e-visa holders can enter Armenia only via some selected checkpoints!
How to Apply for Armenia e-Visa Online
Compared to a traditional Armenia visa, applying for an e-visa is a piece of cake. No need to visit Armenian embassies or consulates. No need to follow complicated steps. No need to schedule an appointment for a visa interview. This entire process is streamlined and can be completed from the comfort of your home!
If you fulfill all visa requirements according to Armenia Visa Policy, all you need to do is:
Fill out the online visa application form
Double-check the provided information
Pay the visa fee using a secure online payment option
Submit your application and supporting documents.
Once done, you'll need to wait a few days. If your application is error-free, you'll get your approved e-visa in no time!
Visa Application Form
The application form is one of the most important things to apply for an e-visa for Armenia. You need to pay close attention and fill out the form using the correct data to avoid delays with approval.
To fill out the visa application form, you need to provide personal, contact, travel, and passport details, such as:
Name and surname
Date of birth
Place of birth
Passport number
Passport issue and expiry date
Email address
Phone number
Travel date
Besides your visa application form, you also need to provide some supporting documents. For e-visa, 3 of the most important visa requirements are:
Valid Passport - You need an original passport to provide passport information. Make sure your passport has at least 6 months of remaining validity and 2 blank pages for stamps.
E-mail Address - On approval, applicants will get their e-visa via email. Your email address will be electronically linked to your passport, so make sure you are providing a valid and active email.
Means of Payment - You'll need to pay the embassy fee and visa service fee to get your e-visa. As this entire process is online, it's rational to use online payment methods, such as debit card and credit card.
Besides these, you might need some additional documents depending on your purpose of visit, such as an invitation letter, health declaration form, bank statement, and much more. It's recommended to get your COVID-19 vaccination certification beforehand to avoid self-isolation.
Processing Time
The processing time for an Armenian visa is different for different applicants. On average, you'll be able to get your e-visa within 3-5 working days.
However, if there are some errors and mistakes in your visa application form, you might need to wait a little longer.
Armenia Electronic Visa Validity Period
Citizens of eligible countries can apply for two types of e-visas for tourist and business affairs. A 21-day tourist visa comes with a validity period of 90 days. Alternatively, the 120-day Armenian e-visa stays valid for 180 days.
Both of these visa types are single-entry travel documents. Armenian visas can be extended for 60 days. To do so, you'll need to visit the Passport and Visa Department of the Armenian Police Office.
